To create her distinctive and instantly recognizable works, Eleanor Bolton developed a unique craft technique: she coils and hand stitches cotton rope creating lightweight tactile jewelry. Focusing on new forms and micro details, she explores how components can be manipulated to create the unexpected and unconventional. The primary inspiration for the sculptural pieces consisted in all things nautical on every marine vessel. It’s all about large scale jewelry pieces that combine black and different vibrant colors. Her innovative use of materials and the introduction of contrasting gold and silver plated elements for more sophisticated pieces, contribute to the high aesthetic level of her creations. “I always enjoyed the physicality of working directly with materials and used to make sculpture that combined with an interest in fashion and the notion of adornment led me to jewelry.” Amongst the adjectives used to describe her work you can find amazing, unique, beautiful, wonderful or simply stunning. Ms. Bolton is a British jewelry and accessories designer based in London UK, whose works have been featured in magazines such as Time Out London, Crafts, Elle Decoration and Vogue Paris.
