Whether it’s sculpture, paintings or illustrations, Hedi Xandt’s works are testament to his ability to manipulate and play with mediums and materials. Flawless in execution, humorous and surprising, they are an introduction into his dark, fantastic universe populated by larger than life figures. Amongst them, creatures that haunt his “Night-mares”, a daydreaming Apollo shining his nail rays upon us, a threatening lipstick wearing Super-Tsar or ghostly heroes. Born Malte Alexander into a family of creative artists, his art education began at an early age. Worried his birth name would be difficult to pronounce, he now uses his childhood nickname coupled his family’s hereditary name as a moniker. While his works have mostly been exhibited in Europe, his exclusive designs can be seen in various publications around the world. This year he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University for Applied Science in Darmstadt, Germany with a degree in Communication and Product Design. Congratulations!
